Second U.S. Passport
U.S. citizens may be eligible to receive a second, concurrently valid U.S. passport under certain circumstances - for example in cases where international travel is required while simultaneously applying for visas, or for cases where an entry-stamp from one country would prevent admission to another country.
For international touring crew members who may need to apply for multiple visas at the same time or while traveling, SOS encourages you to apply for a second, concurrently valid U.S. passport.

Please note, while touring professionals can typically demonstrate a clear and convincing justification for a second U.S. passport, the issuance of a secondary passport is at the discretion of the Department of State, and could be denied if the Department of State determines that you do not meet eligibility requirements. Please also note that second U.S. passports are issued for a limited validity period - usually 2 years - instead of the normal 10 years.
If you have a current valid U.S. passport, the procedures for applying for a second passport are approximately the same as applying for a renewal passport. It is generally preferable to handle applications for a secondary passport in person - either presenting yourself at a regional Passport Agency or using SOS or another expediting service to present your application on your behalf.
